Calgary Society for Healthy Child Development
The Calgary Society for Healthy Child Development is a charitable organization founded in 1998. We engage in activities that help families develop the skills they need to ensure their children grow up healthy and strong.
Our Vision: All children achieve optimal development.
Our Mission: The Calgary Society for Healthy Child Development seeks to increase awareness how parents, grandparents, extended family, and childcare providers can promote healthy childhood development, through the ages of birth to 6 years.
Calgary Society for Healthy Child Development: Making a difference, one child at a time.
The period from birth to six years of age is a critical time for a child’s health, growth and development. Calgary Society for Healthy Child Development is a charitable organization that helps children achieve their potential by ensuring young lives start off on a firm footing. Our aim: that families have what they need to grow up healthy and strong.
Our Role
Our role in helping Calgary’s children lead healthy lives:
Educate and Inform – we strive to increase awareness for the importance of early child development. We share research-based information on our website and social media.
Fundraising – One of our major goals for fundraising is to provide support to Prime Time, a program that provides parenting coaching and support to vulnerable families. The program helps parents navigate through the first six years of their child’s life by building parenting competencies and healthy family relationships that support child development. This program is offered by another agency — carya Calgary.

Help is Free at Prime Time
Prime Time coaches work with families who are under considerable stress and are not connected to a strong support network. They provide practical guidance and information to new parents who are the better able to meet their child’s needs from birth, through infancy and beyond. This free service contributes to long-lasting success for children and parents.
